Jonathan P. Holden, CPA, is a Tax Principal. A 1981 magna cum laude graduate of the State University New York at Buffalo with a B.S. in Accounting, Jon has 27 years of experience in the tax area. He spent the last 18 years of his career in the Buffalo office of Ernst & Young LLP heading E & Y’s tax compliance practice for the Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester offices. While there, he specialized in corporate/business tax compliance and planning for clients in manufacturing, construction, retail and service-related industries.

 

Jon has served both public and privately held companies and has built an expertise in taxation of C corporations and partnerships, in multi-state income tax compliance and planning, and in international taxation, including both from an inbound and outbound perspective. He also has experience in handling tax examinations for clients.

 

As a Tax Principal for Tronconi Segarra & Associates, Jon leads the tax compliance function for the Firm, concentrating efforts on streamlining the Firm’s compliance methodologies to maintain the high level of client service and quality of work in light of recent tremendous growth in the Firm’s tax practice. In addition, Jon monitors the Firm’s quality control measures for the tax area and serves as a technical mentor to staff accountants and managers. He also provides tax planning and consulting services to clients.

 

In 2004-5, Jon served as a committee chairperson for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Annual Diamond Ball event. Jon has taught tax courses at an area level for Ernst & Young. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
