 Nicholas J. Fabozzi, CPA, is Chairman of the Firm's Accounting & Auditing Department and the Partner-in-Charge of the Governmental Services Group at the Firm.  Nick graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in December 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  Nick has 19 years of public accounting experience, and prior to joining the Firm in 1996, he spent eight years at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has extensive experience in the manufacturing, high technology, financial services, governmental contracting, and public utilities.

In addition to his Governmental Services Group leadership role, Nick serves as the Partner-in-Charge and Quality Assurance Partner for our current Bankruptcy Audit Services – Chapter 7 Trustee Audits contract for the United States Trustee Program of the U. S. Department of Justice.  Nick also provided compliance and audit services to the Erie County Water Authority for the eight years he was employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers.  His responsibilities with the Erie County Water Authority included financial statement audits, assistance with bond offerings, development of accounting department and internal audit policies and procedures manuals, and various agreed upon procedures engagements.  The aforementioned clients are either government organizations, are subject to GAGAS, and/or are subject to the requirements under OMB Circular A-133.

During his tenure at PricewaterhouseCoopers, he was responsible for the planning and execution of audit engagements for both public and privately-held commercial entities ranging from $10 million to greater than $10 billion in assets.

Nick also has significant experience working in the outsourced CFO capacity, in which his responsibilities have included business acquisition due diligence, assistance in obtaining bank and bond financing, budget development, and monthly financial reporting analysis.

Nick is a member of AICPA and NYSSCPA, previously serving as Secretary of the Buffalo Chapter of the NYSSCPA, and Chair of the Buffalo Chapter’s “Cooperation with Commercial Credit Grantors” Committee.  Nick is also a Board Member of the Western New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and has chaired regional fundraising events for the Foundation.

His on-going continuing professional education credits include in excess of 24 hours of government related courses on a bi-annual basis in the last two years.  He has also met or exceeded the overall continuing professional education requirements of the NYSSCPA since obtaining his license.
