Mark Ferm Appointed to NYS Board for Public Accountancy

Mark A. Ferm, CPA, has been appointed to serve on the New York State Board for Public Accountancy. As one of 19 members of the statewide Board, Mark stated that he is eager to serve the public accounting industry through a seat on the Board "It is an honor to be appointed to the Board, and I look forward to joining with the other Board members to provide vision, leadership and stewardship to our profession and to other CPAs in New York State."
Mark brings nearly 20 years of public accounting experience to the Board, having begun his accounting career at a large international public accounting firm in 1994. He joined Tronconi Segarra & Associates in 2001 and was elected a partner in 2006. Mark has developed several service areas for the Firm, including Corporate Governance, Margers & Acquisitions and risk management services such as forensic accounting and auditing and business valuations. He serves clients in numerous industries including manufacturing, industrial sales and distribution, higher education, school districts, private equity, government and municipalities, professional service firms and financial institutions. He is also partner-in-charge of the Firm's system of quality control, which ensures compliance with professional, Federal, state and other applicable regulations.
A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Alfred University in Alfred, New York, Mark earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1994. He is a member of the AICPA, the NYSSCPA (where he currently serves on the Mergers & Acquisition Committee), and is an associate member of the Association of Cerfitied Fraud Examiners. In July of this year, Mark was presented with the De Moss Leadership Award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County in recognition of his leadership and involvement with the organization for the past several years.
