David E. Werth, JD, CPA

David E. Werth, JD, CPA, a partner at Tronconi Segarra & Associates LLP in Williamsville, New York, has over 30 years of public accounting and industry experience, serving clients both in the Western New York area as well as nationally.  For the past 20 years, David has focused his practice in the area of State & Local Tax (SALT), predominantly sales and use tax.  Those services include, but are not limited to: audit representation, transaction advisory services, nexus studies, voluntary disclosure/amnesty, refund reviews, utility studies, research and analysis, sales excise tax compliance and training.

David has developed an expertise in sales and use tax in a number of industries, including but not limited to: consumer and industrial products, automotive, electronic commerce, computer hardware/software, healthcare / health services / pharmaceutical, food (manufacturing, wholesale, and retail), financial services and life sciences.

David joined the firm in 2004, having left Ernst & Young where he was a partner responsible for that firm’s Northeastern U.S. Sales & Use Tax Practice for nearly 10 years.  David spent the first five years of his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP after graduating from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo School of Law in 1984 with a Juris Doctor, and Niagara University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting (Magna Cum Laude).

David is a member of the AICPA, the NYSSCPA, and IPT.  He is a sought-after speaker on the topic of sales and use tax for many local and national organizations and associations.
